Member Spotlight: Jason Philip

Jason Philip was born in Wichita, KS, in the year 1990. He resides in Hope Mills, NC with his wife, Brianna, and their beautiful baby daughter. He grew up in a very musical family and was taught music theory and singing from his mother.

During his senior year in high school he became inspired to learn guitar and began playing and songwriting. He quickly became a part of his local church band where he now leads. Jason was contacted by Tony Vazquez, the band's founder and bassist, with the idea and vision for the group where Jason plays acoustic guitar, is the lead singer, and writes new songs.

Jason's passion for the Jason Philip Band and for music in general is fueled by his desire to connect with people who feel stuck in their current situations, not able to see beyond the daily mundane of their lives, and to inspire and encourage them with the message that with the proper perspective and mindset, our dreams and goals are within reach and worth fighting for - looking not necessarily on the "bright" side but rather on the right side of things.
